Why attend a Christian university?
Providence teaches people to grow in knowledge and character for leadership and service. We are invested in seeing our students grow their faith and skill sets so that they can fulfil God’s calling on their lives by getting the education needed to start meaningful careers and vocations.
What should I take if I don’t know what program I want to go into?
There are required courses that every student has to take regardless of their program. You can start by taking these required courses, after which you can declare a major. (A major is the area you’d like to specialize in. For example, you can get a Bachelor of Science with a major in Biology.) An academic advisor is available to help you choose a major and register for the courses you need to graduate.
How can I afford a university education?
We understand that attending a university is a big investment, and we strive to make your education as affordable as possible.
SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES are available to all qualified students. Those entering their first year of studies at Providence University College are eligible for an entrance scholarship. This makes it possible for more students to experience a private, Christian post-secondary education at Providence than ever before!
Entrance Scholarship are based on your academic averages achieved in grades 11 and 12. (See chart below). Submit your application before August 31 in order to be eligible.
- If your academic average is 80-84.9%, you receive a scholarship total of $1500.
- If your academic average is 85-89.9%, you receive a scholarship total of $2500.
- If your academic average is 90-94.9%, you receive a scholarship total of $3000.
- If your academic average is 95-100%, you receive a scholarship total of $3500.
How much does it cost to attend Providence?
It depends on what program you choose to take. For instance, getting your BA in Aviation is more expensive because of all the in-flight training hours you need to graduate. However, basic tuition for a Canadian undergraduate student is $4,965 per semester (or $993 per three credit hour course). If you want to live on-campus, it costs $3,975 per semester (includes full meal plan). Our enrollment officers are happy to help you with the application process and to discuss costs with you.
When is the deadline to apply?
We accept applications right up until the start of the semester. However, we recommend that students apply to Providence before the scholarship and bursaries deadlines to be considered for financial awards.
