Back in October, Providence first announced its tuition freeze for the 2020/21 academic year. The tuition freeze will be effective from September 2020 to April 2021, and will not only impact new students to Providence but returning students as well.
“By holding tuition to the current rate for the coming year, Providence is indicating its commitment to ensure that our transformational education programs will remain available to as wide a variety of students as possible,” says Cameron McKenzie, Provost and Vice President Academic.
Our undergraduate domestic tuition will remain at $4,545 per semester (or $909 per three credit course). Financial gifts to the Providence Fund and our Impact 2020 fundraising campaign have made it possible to keep tuition costs as low as possible, as well as provide more than 60% of our students with scholarships and bursaries amounting to $450,000 annually.
To date, we’ve raised $13,945,463 through our Impact 2020 campaign as we approach our year-end fundraising goal of $14.5 million. This has positioned us to offer new program options at Providence including a 4-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biology and Health Sciences. We’ve also started a 4-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in the Buller School of Business with the option of a 2-year Diploma. In Seminary, for instance, students can take a Master of Arts (MA) in Counselling Psychology, one of our most sought out programs, or a Doctor of Ministry (DMin).
The tuition freeze, new programming, renovations and improvements to campus facilities are steps towards becoming more competitive in Canada’s changing post-secondary education sector and providing students with more affordable options and services.
