In April 2026, Providence hosted its largest graduation, with ceremonies over four days – three of which were for Prov Downtown graduates. Hear from the students themselves, who reflect on their experience studying at the Massey Building in Winnipeg.
On Wednesday, October 9th at Providence’s downtown Massey Building location, students, staff and faculty held an International Day of the Girl Child symposium. This was hosted by Prov Downtown’s House Blackett and organized by one of their students – Irene Ugbah.
There is something unique about the place of teachers in the world. From a very young age, people look to others who have more life experience to impart wisdom and to inspire wonder. This is the case in family settings – where children learn from their parents and caregivers – as well as in scholastic contexts (i.e. elementary through graduate studies). In fact, without faculty, institutions like Providence would simply not exist, since it’s the role and responsibility of professors to facilitate the process of education, through teaching, writing and public scholarship.
For almost 100 years, the lives of countless people from around the world have been positively impacted by Providence’s vision to transform students into leaders of character, knowledge, and faith.
