Providence University College Signs Agreement with Primacorp Ventures Inc.

May 3, 2022 | Institution / General, News, University College

Winnipeg, MB – Providence has formed a new partnership agreement with Primacorp Ventures, offering a two-year Associate of Arts degree in Business. The program will be delivered in a downtown Winnipeg location, beginning in the Summer of 2022.

Established in 1995, with its primary focus on “changing lives through education,” Primacorp Ventures Inc. will primarily be responsible to recruit international students on Providence’s behalf.

“We look forward to a strong partnership with Providence, which shares our vision of changing lives through education,” said Yul Kim, Senior Vice President & Managing Director for Primacorp Ventures. “Working with Providence to grow its international student base will enable more skilled professionals to enter the workforce and contribute to stronger and mutually-beneficial communities.”

In support of the newly-launched AA in Business, the Coram Deo Foundation will offer a $1,000 scholarship for students that start their program by November 2022. Through the scholarship, Coram Deo aspires to give an opportunity to international students from various cultural and religious backgrounds to learn about Christianity.

Providence will continue to be responsible for admissions and enrollment processes, offering the same quality and academic standard for the program in Winnipeg as the degrees and programs offered on its main campus in Otterburne, Manitoba. The two-year AA in Business will be housed within our Buller School of Business and taught by Providence faculty.

The AA in Business will fall under all the normal assessment and accreditation criteria met by Providence. Learners are expected to be primarily international students who will be registered as Providence students and who will graduate with a Manitoba College credential. Graduates from this program will be eligible for the Post Graduate Work Permit for up to three years, which allows international students to work anywhere in Canada.

“We are excited to be entering this agreement with Primacorp Ventures, a partner who shares our values and commitment to education,” Providence’s Provost Nicholas Greco said. “The Associate of Arts offered at the location in Winnipeg is an expansion of what we’re already doing in our Buller School of Business. We are beginning to embark on different ways to offer our programs so they are more accessible to new groups of students.”

This partnership supports Providence’s strategy to build educational programs that partner with diverse communities, extend our reach to more non-traditional learning populations and enhance the international student experience. Providence encourages students, after completing their AA, to continue their education by taking a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) at Providence in Otterburne, MB.
