Providence marks the third Thursday in March as our annual ‘Day4Prov.’ It’s a day to proudly wear your Providence hats, t-shirts and hoodies and challenge one another to give what they can whether it’s $10, $25, $50 or more. Hashtags #Day4Prov and #ProvisWhereYouAre were created on social media to give everyone the opportunity to share their Providence stories and join in the excitement.
When asked what people loved most about Providence, some of the tags on Instagram included these responses:
- My Prov professors
- Caring leadership
- Sodexo (our meal providers)
- Providence feels like home for international students
- The small town feel where you get to know almost every student
- The opportunity to meet and create ‘family’
- The way community is upheld & fostered
- My long commute while drinking coffee
- So many things, but most of all, I met my husband at Providence
- Providence helped me get my job after graduation and I love what I do
- Providence challenged me to seek the Truth
Providence held a contest for students, alumni and employees offering prizes for those who shared a selfie or story on social media. Congratulations go to the winners as follows:
Student Winner: Natalya Reimer | Prize: AirPods
Alumni Winner: Mike Slessor | Prize: Prov Gear
Employee Winner: Marcio Coehlo | Prize: Bluetooth speaker, Prov mug & meal card
This year, Day4Prov brought in a total of 50 gifts and more than $7,200. A big thank you to everyone who participated!
