Prov Alum, Ed Buller, 1 of 4 Canadians to Win ‘Heroes For Children’ Award

Pastor Ed Buller, who graduated from Providence with a MDiv in 2006, was among four Canadians chosen this year for the ‘Heroes for Children’ award from World Vision.

This award recognizes individuals who work to make the world a better place for children. Buller, pastor of the Filipino Heart of Worship International Church in Winnipeg, organized a ‘Walk for Water’ event that brought together more than 700 people within the Filipino church community (in Manitoba) and they raised $42,000 to provide clean water for impoverished children in the developing world through World Vision.

Last year (2019), Buller was able to raise enough money to save the lives of an estimated 800 children. “This year, we want to save the lives of 1,600 children,” he said.

Buller’s story was recently written by John Longhurst for the Winnipeg Free Press. Read the full article here.
