Course Description

ENCOUNTERING JESUS IN JOHN’S GOSPEL is the next Pop-Up Prov graduate-level course, which is being offered on Saturdays in Winnipeg starting in May, and taught by Dr. Joshua Coutts (Associate Professor of New Testament).

The Gospel of John is one of the most foundational and influential texts of the Christian faith. For John, the disclosure of God in and through his unique Son portrayed in the Gospel is the climactic event of history. He composed his Gospel to facilitate both an encounter with Jesus and the extension of his mission. This course offers a literary, historical, and theological engagement with the Gospel that approaches it both thematically and sequentially, with the pastoral aim of encountering more deeply the Jesus whom John presents.
