Merry Christmas

Dec 25, 2019 | Institution / General, News

Providence wishes all of you a “Merry Christmas!” This is the time of year for giving and showing appreciation. We’re so grateful for all of our alumni, students, staff, faculty and greater Manitoba community. It’s the perfect time, at the end of the year, for us to reflect on the goodness and loving kindnesses of our God.

It was all set into motion on that night in Bethlehem when Jesus was born. It was a lowly birth. He was wrapped in swaddling clothes and laid to sleep in a manager. Mary and Joseph, not so unlike ourselves, as parents, could hardly have imagined all that Jesus would accomplish.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6 NIV).

We can be confident in our heavenly, yet ever-present God today. Unlike Mary, we now have the added assurance in witnessed reports of Jesus as recorded in the New Testament, and endless testimonies in our modern-day history, all testifying to the greatness of our soul-saving, miracle-working God.

Let the joy and wonder that this knowledge brings fill everyone’s hearts today.
