On Friday, October 18th, Providence held its annual Harvest Festival banquet in the Reimer Student Life Centre. This year, almost 200 people attended the event, which was hosted by Karen Jolly (Assistant Professor of Indigenous Studies), and featured guest speakers Shannon Johnson Friesen (alumna & Lead Pastor of Stonehouse Covenant Church), Alex Cedeno (current student), Mark Reimer (founder of the Manitoba to Ecuador project), and music by Danny Plett (singer/songwriter).
This year’s theme was “Crossroads,” which can be seen in the following video and read about more extensively in the latest issue of Eye Witness magazine.
Thank you to all those who supported this event through volunteering, donations and sponsorships. Over $64 000 was raised this year for the Providence Fund, which provides much needed assistance to the educational, community and faith experience of students at Providence.
