OTTERBURNE, MB – Choosing a university is one of the first and most important decisions a person makes for their future. At Providence, we have resources available to help you. You can go to our website and view our ‘Discover Your Program’ pages, flip through our viewbook and read our program guide. But one of the best ways to determine whether Providence University College is the right fit for you is to join our open house called Preview Prov. You’ll have the opportunity to explore our facilities in a virtual campus tour. You will gain valuable insights into program options, student life and the overall campus experience. You will meet our faculty, staff, and current students, and get real answers to your questions.
With all this in mind, we’ve compiled five reasons why, if you’re considering Providence University College, you should attend our upcoming Virtual Preview Prov on February 4, 2022:
1. Experience Student Life
You can speak with our Athletics Director, Residence Life Director and Community Life Coordinator who will give you a picture of what it is like at Providence. Current students will also be available to answer your questions. Whether you’re attending a chapel service, joining in a residence hall activity, watching a Pilots game, playing an instrument in the worship band, participating in student leadership, or serving others through field education, you will grow and learn in a supportive and diverse community at Providence.
2. Tour the Campus Virtually
Our virtual tour of the campus will give you an up-front look at our classrooms, science lab, gymnasium, Student Life Centre, residences and so much more. Since you will spend a few years at university, you need to make sure the overall environment is a place where you can live, learn, and belong.
Following Preview Prov, we encourage you to book an in-person tour and visit Providence for yourself. Your parents are welcome to come too! You can check out our fitness center, cafeteria, library and look for a cozy study area. We think you’ll find Providence to be a friendly and safe place where you can thrive as a student.
3. Discover a Program That’s a Fit for You
You may not be sure of what program to choose, or you simply need more information. Preview Prov is a great place to start. Our afternoon program on February 4th offers different livestream sessions with current students who are majoring in areas such as aviation, biblical studies, business, science and TESOL. They can help you start thinking about a program and/or major that’s right for you.
4. Meet Future Classmates, Current Students and Professors
When you attend Preview Prov, you will meet staff, students, and professors, and you’ll be able to ask questions about their experiences and draw on their areas of knowledge and expertise. This is the perfect opportunity to interact and ask questions such as: What can I expect from a university level course? What’s the best major to take so I can achieve my career path goals? How employable is my degree? How many other students will be in my classes? How do I finance my university education? What bursaries and scholarships are available to me?
5. Register to Win a $1,000 Bursary!
At Preview Prov, we will have giveaways throughout the day. Also, if you register and attend our sessions, you will automatically be entered into a contest with a chance to win a $1,000 bursary. In order to be eligible and claim the prize, you must attend our Q&A session at 3:10 pm.
