OTTERBURNE, MB – For well over a decade, Golden West Broadcasting in partnership with Steinbach Community Christmas have run a local project to collect and distribute toys for families in need during the holidays. This year, Providence is participating as a sponsor of Toys Days, where we are collecting unwrapped gifts that will be included in hampers for distribution across Southeastern Manitoba. Along with all that’s needed to prepare a traditional Christmas meal, these toys will bring joy to children ages 0-17, and in honour of our centennial year we are looking to collect 100 gifts.
The collection has already begun, and donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off in the Welcome Centre at our Otterburne campus location. Look for an almost life-size cut out of President Kent Anderson that will be decorated when certain milestones of gifts arrive! Once we reach our goal of 100 toys, the plan is to celebrate with a holiday coffee break for employees and another for students – perhaps with something special from Providence’s favourite local bakery. Then, we will send a few representatives to Steinbach with the gifts in early December to drop them off, so that they arrive just in time for Christmas.

Thank you for your generosity!
