Begin your transformative journey to become an educational leader with Providence’s Master of Arts in Educational Leadership.

The program aims to provide students with a solid foundation in educational leadership by imparting knowledge of education and leadership theory and practice, while also fostering the development of essential leadership skills. Students are guided by our experienced faculty members to become visionary leaders in the field of education and to make a meaningful impact on those they serve.

Program Details

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership is a two-year, 36 credit-hour program for students who hold a bachelor’s degree from any discipline. It’s offered in downtown Winnipeg, catering to the needs of international students.

The program enhances students’ skills and abilities in various areas essential for effective educational leadership: strategic planning, cultural competence, collaboration fostering, and ethical and servant leadership. Students learn to drive organizational growth for holistic educational development.

NOTE: Successful completion of the program makes international students eligible to apply for the Government of Canada’s three-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP).

The Master of Arts in Educational Leadership is a 36 credit-hour degree program earned by taking the following requirements:

Major Requirements

  • History and Philosophy of Education (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Human Development (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Ethics and Morality in Leadership (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Contemporary Approaches for Leadership and Administration (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Principles of Teaching and Learning (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Nine credits hours of the following:
    • Managing Change, Transitions, Conflict and Power (3 cr. hrs.)
    • Creating and Sustaining Effective Teams (3 cr. hrs.)
    • Vision, Strategy, Execution and Assessment (3 cr. hrs.)
    • Assessment, Placement, & Evaluation (3 cr. hrs.)
    • Art for Learning and Healing (3 cr. hrs.)
    • Thesis  (6 cr. hrs.)
  • Leadership Applied Focus Practicum 1 (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Leadership Applied Focus Practicum 2 (3 cr. hrs.)

Department of Biblical and Theological Studies Requirements

  • Reading the Church’s Bible (3 cr. hrs.)
  • Servant Leadership (3 cr. hrs.)
