Earn a Pre-Ed Foundation in Humanities, Natural Science & Social Science

Interdisciplinary Studies enable students to develop their understanding and appreciation of human nature, knowledge, values, interaction, societies, struggles, and achievements through the examination of theories, methods, and data from the fields of both science and humanities. This program is designed to equip students with a broad understanding of human life, thought and relationships, an awareness of the methods, topics and trends across disciplines, and an advanced ability to think analytically, critically and creatively.

The three-year Interdisciplinary Studies degree prepares students to enter an after-degree Bachelor of Education program of their choice. Many institutions offer two-year BEd degrees that a student may apply for upon completion of their BA in Interdisciplinary Studies (e.g. University of Manitoba, University of Winnipeg, Brandon University). While Providence cannot guarantee acceptance into programs at other institutions, both the General or Specialized Interdisciplinary Studies degree will provide students with the necessary teachables that are required.
