Michael Gilmour

Distinguished Professor of New Testament & English Literature

Michael is the longest serving faculty member at Providence, teaching both English literature and Bible. His research interests include study of the English literary circle known as the Inklings, the art of Nobel laureate Bob Dylan, and animal and environmental ethics. His teaching rotation includes courses on the writings of C. S. Lewis, Charles Dickens, and animal theology. Michael is also on the board of directors of a Christian farm animal sanctuary in New York state that, along with rescue efforts, promotes sustainability and vegan living.
