Brief Description: A recent study suggests that 27% of Canadians aged 15 years and older, or approximately 8 million people, have one or more disabilities that limit them in their daily activities. For many Christians and non-Christians alike, disability is seen as an aberration, a deviation from the creaturely order, which should be avoided at all costs. What often results is that we don’t just try to avoid disability—we avoid disabled people altogether.
But what if disability isn’t all bad? What if there are some things to learn from disabled people and their experiences of life and death? Join us as we explore what disabled perspectives can contribute to our ongoing task of learning what it means to live (and die) well as creatures created by God.
