Train Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages

Our TTESOL program will build on your existing TESOL education and help you become a teacher-trainer. Upon graduation you’ll be ready to teach teachers of English to speakers of other languages right here in Manitoba, throughout Canada and around the world.

For Entrance into the TTESOL program

The academic prerequisite for admission to the TTESOL program is an undergraduate degree, a TESOL certificate or equivalent and 100 hours of adult EAL teaching experience. Core course requirements are listed in the Academic Calendar.

Descriptions of Major Options

  • Master of Arts in TTESOL
    • This graduate-level program comprises 36 credit hours of study as well as a thesis or project. It presumes a level of competence in linguistic theory gained at undergraduate level and concentrates on pedagogical concerns. The thesis or project will allow you to demonstrate mastery of the discipline. 
  • Graduate TTESOL Certificate
    • A 21-credit hour program, the Providence TTESOL certificate will prepare TESOL undergraduates to train teachers of English to speakers of other languages.
