Why Providence was the Best Fit for Alex

Because of its forested, riverside and agriculturally adjacent location in Otterburne, Providence is uniquely positioned to offer a mix of hands-on field methods and laboratory-based Environmental Science courses, which prepared Alex for the work she does now with the Seine Rat Roseau Watershed District. In fact, one of her main roles as a Watershed Technician is to work alongside farmers to implement more environmentally friendly practices to ensure clean water for all – something that isn’t actually too far off from her aspirations as a kid.

The thing that turned me towards the environment and looking for a job in that field was realizing the connection between humans and earth and how we all fit together; how everything should be working together as a community.
