OTTERBURNE, MB - At the start of January every year, we remember Providence’s birthday. This year marks 96 years. Since its early beginnings, Providence has grown significantly from 26 students taking Bible classes in a church basement. Enrollment now stands at approximately 440 students. Providence confers over 30 majors and more than 10,000 alumni have gone into meaningful careers and ministries in Canada and around the world.
President David Johnson wrote in a recent email, "On January 4, 1925, a small group of faculty and staff met together for the first time in Winnipeg under the name Winnipeg Bible Training School. The goal as to train Christian young people to be Christ’s servants in the world. Our mission is the same, but we sure look different today.”
We thought it’d be interesting to take a look at some ‘then and now’ photos of Providence. We hope it stirs some nostalgia and warm memories. Click on the slideshow below.
