Winnipeg Product Hudson Barkman Joins the Providence Pilots
The Pilots announced Tuesday the signing of Hudson Barkman to the Pilots men's volleyball roster. The local product who will graduate from Mennonite Brethren Collegiate Institute this spring also played for 204 Volleyball Club.
The 6’1” outside / libero’s versatility on the court and ability to play multiple positions at a high level makes this new recruit an asset to the already strong Pilots roster for this upcoming fall season.
“When I was planning what I wanted to do with my future, I didn’t think volleyball would be a part of it,” said Barkman, “It wasn’t until coach Cody approached me with this opportunity that I started considering it. Ever since, Providence has made more and more sense to be the next step in my life. I can’t wait to get to know the guys and see where this decision takes me.”
Head coach Cody Quiring shared his thoughts on Barkman by saying, “We are excited to add Hudson to the Providence Men’s Volleyball program for Fall 2021. Hudson comes to us from a couple powerhouse volleyball programs: MBCI and 204 Volleyball Club. He is an extremely versatile athlete and will be a super utility weapon for the program for years to come. The versatility of Hudson to play at both pin positions as well as setter or libero is an added bonus for the program. Being able to have a student-athlete like Hudson who has the volleyball IQ and physical presence to play at four positions creates dynamic possibilities for our group. We are excited to watch Hudson grow as a student-athlete at Providence.”
Barkman plans on studying in the Buller School of Business this fall.
Welcome to the Pilot family Hudson!
