The Providence Pilots women’s soccer team continues to take shape ahead of the 2018-19 season.
Earlier this week Katerina Cook, who hails from Vancouver Island, committed to the Pilots and will study social sciences at Providence beginning in the fall. A central midfielder with a heavy shot, she specializes in free-kicks and corners.
“Kat is a great addition to our team,” says head coach Tory Walker. “She is a mature player who will bring some experience and confidence to our young squad.”
Cook has high-level playing experience in British Columbia, where she has featured in the Gorge Soccer Association’s Metro League and High Performance League. She is also a previous winner of both the Best Offensive Player and Most Valuable Player awards at the Ladysmith Tournament.
“I am very happy to become a Pilot,” she says. “I’m excited to meet the rest of the team and to grow as one.”
