Provincial Champion Paige Heide, a defender from Steinbach commits to the Pilots women's soccer team.
Paige Heide is accustomed to performing at a high level, expecially when it comes to school and soccer. A 5'7" defender who has been a long time soccer Providence Sports Camper, having represented Mantioba this year for her FCNW soccer club team and started in all 5 games in nationals has decided to bring her talends west of Steinbach, to the Otterburne Campus.
Coach Tory Walker expressed his excitement of Paige committing by saying, "I am extremely excited to announce Paige as our first signing of the 2020 soccer season. Paige is an amazing soccer player and has a tremendous work ethic, both in sport and as a student. I have had the privilege to see Paige grow and develop over the past few years and have known 3 years ago, that I want her to be on our team and be a Pilot."
Paige comes to Providence with a lot of awards and achievements on her resume, like, U17 Provincial Champions for club team FCNW, Indoor and outdoor league Champs, Barb Cheop Track and field award, MHSAA Scholar Athlete Award, Steinbach Secondary Athletic Awards, Bronze Medalist in the 800M & 3000M track and field, and is also on the SRSS academic honour roll.
Paige commented on joining the Providence Pilots by saying "I believe Providence College will allow me to grow as a soccer player, a person and most importantly in my faith. The thought of being a part of the Pilot program excites me and I look forward to joining the Providence soccer family."
Paige comes to Providence to not only play soccer, but to study in our Science program.
