Otterburne, MB – Providence Pilots women’s soccer team is pleased to announce the signing of Vanessa Edis of Penticton, B.C.
“Vanessa is a great soccer player with high end potential. I had the chance to watch her play earlier this summer and her calmness on the ball and aggression impressed me,” said Head Coach, Tory Walker. “She comes to Providence with great soccer history and has won some high awards from her club team in Penticton such as, female athlete of the year as a 16 year old. She also comes to our team with high praise from her club. Her coach comments, “She was our defensive leader and she has all the attributes to be a top player.”
Vanessa a 5’5 centre defender comes to Providence to play soccer and study in the Buller school of business. Beyond athletics Vanessa volunteers as a coach for younger Penticton football clubs and is involved with her church youth group as well as school events.
“I am very excited to be joining the Pilots in the fall and studying at Providence. It has always been a dream to play soccer at the next level, and I am excited to continue to improve my skills and myself as a person on and off the pitch, while being a part of such a close and amazing community.”
Coach Walker commented by saying, “I am really excited that Vanessa decided to join our Providence community. I believe she is going to fit right in here and be a contributing member to this team. Our team is looking great for next year and we are eager to see how we will match up in both our MCAC and NCCAA leagues. I believe Vanessa will help us continue to get to that next level.”
Welcome to the Pilot family Vanessa!
