Pilots Women's Soccer Add Attacker Laurianne Chiasson for Fall 2021
Head coach Tory Walker announced today that the women's soccer team has added more attacking power to the team this fall. Striker or winger, Laurianne Chaisson, has signed her letter of intent to play for the Pilots this season.
Currently, Chiasson is finishing up her final year of high school at Royal Bay Secondary School Soccer Academy. Chiasson has experience playing soccer in both Quebec Soccer and, most recently, in the gold division on the west coast in Victoria Island, British Columbia. Experience at a high level also provided Chiasson with an opportunity to play overseas having traveled with her Quebec club to Paris in 2018.
Chiasson brings a history of experience to the Pilots for next fall. Her attacking ability, being able to use both feet well and a strong shot makes her a threat on any side of the pitch.
Chiasson comes to Providence ready to work hard and voiced her commitment by saying, "The best way to success is going through failures first so if we have bad days we just need to do it better in practices or games the next time. Providence will provide just that and be a lot of fun. I am very excited about joining Providence's soccer team and to be able to make new connections with people. I will always say we win as a team, we lose as a team, we draw as a team and we have fun as a team. So if we are enjoying our team and time, then we are being successful.
Head coach Walker commented on his newest recruit by saying, "I am really excited to add another solid player like Laurianne to the team. We have some high goals and hopes for next fall. This returning group are eager to put this past season behind us and push our team to the level that we know we are able to reach. I am really excited for the new recruiting class to see where they will all fit. I believe we will be a strong team and Laurianne will help push the team forward."
Chiasson intends on studying in the Buller School of Business this fall.
Welcome to the Pilot family Laurianne!
