Pilots Women's Basketball Add Guard Kate Hanson
Kate Hanson has signed her letter of intent to play basketball for the Pilots this fall season. The Rosthern, Saskatchewan player becomes the fourth signing for the Pilots women’s basketball team. She joins a Pilots team growing with Saskatchewanian’s including team manager Olivia Rempel along with players Anna Cushon and Kishi Rioferio. The roster is shaping up, with only a couple spots to fill.
Hanson gets her wings as a Pilot athlete this fall, but also is studying to earn her Pilot wings in the Providence Aviation program.
On the court she is known for her competitive drive and midrange shot. Earning the varsity athletic excellence award as well as her high school team’s junior varsity MVP and varsity team captain, Hanson will make a great addition to the already strong Pilots team for next fall.
Head coach Joel Coursey shared his excitement on his newest recruit by saying, "I am happy to welcome Kate to our program. She couldn’t be more excited about joining us at Providence. Kate has a strong desire to learn and grow in a Christian community. She is an exceptional teammate of high character and integrity. Kate will add to our depth and bring an excited energy to learn and grow."
“I am incredibly excited about the opportunity I have been given to play for the Pilots," said Hanson, "I have always wanted to continue playing basketball at the college level, and Providence seems like the ideal environment for me. I can’t wait to grow my skills as well as my faith, alongside my teammates.”
Welcome to the Pilot family Kate!
