This past weekend your Pilots men’s volleyball team headed out west, all the way to Edmonton, Alberta to play in the University of Alberta, Augustana tournament. The team went up against some very strong opponents and the young Pilots team were tested early. Head coach Scott Masterson had this to say about the weekend: “Overall I would say that this weekend was a great success. Even though we didn’t win a match, we played a lot of volleyball and seemed to learn a lot as a team. The guys really seemed to bond off the court as well. I am really looking forward to coaching this group of players. There’s a lot of inexperience but also a ton of potential for this group and it will be fun to watch the growth of the individual players and the team as a whole.”
The weekend results were as follows.
Friday, September 14
U of A Augustana
Loss 0-3 (18-25; 15-25; 12-25)
Loss 2-3 (25-23; 16-25; 25-22; 22-25; 12-15)
Saturday, September 15
U of A Augustana Alumni

Team captain Brett Foley also commented about the weekend saying “Overall we had a great weekend! We experimented with a bunch of different line ups and had some close games. Saw a lot of improvement and are looking in good shape for the rest of the season!”
The Pilots get back to practice this week as they prepare for their next road trip to Red Deer, Alberta on September 28th and 29th.
