Pilots Men's Soccer Add Solid Defender Maijken Meindertsma
The signings continue for the Providence Pilots despite the difficult times around the world as men's soccer coach Joey Passi announced today that he has added another defender for the 2020 season.
From Abbotsford, British Columbia, Maijken comes to Providence having played for Fraser Valley Metro, one of the highest levels in BC, and also played for high school team Mennonite Educational Institute.
The 6' centre back is known for his tireless work ethic, supportive attitude and strong tackles. He will come to Providence and make a difference from day one.
Head coach Passi commented on his newest signing, "I'm extremely excited to have Maijken join our team. When I started learning what he was all about I knew he would be a perfect fit for us both on and off the field. He's a big defender who plays with passion and isn't afraid to be vocal. He's got great experience playing at a good level in BC and he's driven to succeed. I think he's going to make an immediate impact on our team and program."
Maijken comes to Providence to study in the health sciences program and expressed his enthusiasm by saying, "I'm super excited to meet new people and play soccer with an amazing team all while growing closer to God at a Christian university."
Welcome to the Pilot Family Maijken!
