Pilots Men’s Volleyball Sign Hunter Opiloa from St. Paul’s High School
The Pilots men’s volleyball team will welcome another freshman and another experienced versatile player. Opiloa is known for his setting ability with strong hitting potential on the court. He is a player with a good on-court imagination and incorporates all the players into the game. Opiloa is graduating from St. Paul’s High School this spring and also graduates from club team Jr. Pilots to the varsity squad.
“We are excited to add Hunter to our program this Fall,” said head coach Cody Quiring, “Hunter has a great ceiling of potential with the program and is ecstatic to put in the hard work as a collegiate setter. Along with Hunter’s great serve, he provides a steady presence at the net, strong work ethic and is a threat as an offensive setter. We look forward to developing Hunter into his fullest potential on and off the court. Welcome to the squad, Hunter!”
Opiloa, the 6’2” setter, comes to Providence to study Humanities. Opiloa commented on joining the Pilots by saying, “I am excited to play at a school with such a strong religious base so I may further my spiritual and athletic journey. I am excited to work with a coach that is focused on maintaining that same balance while working with the entire team to succeed.”
Welcome to the Pilot family Hunter!
