Pilots Men’s Soccer Add Attacking Threat Joel Umeh
Head coach Joseph Passi announced early this week that the Pilots men’s team added attacking threat Joel Umeh from Calgary, Alberta to the team for this fall season.
“We’re excited to be bringing in Joel who is a very talented striker,” says coach Passi, “Joel is a speedy player who can get behind the defensive line and be a nightmare for the other team’s defense. He also has a knack for scoring goals no matter how they come. He will be adding to what is already shaping up to be a deep offense for the Pilots. And finally, Joel comes from a great family that values being invested in the community. We’re excited for him to join our program.”
Umeh last played for Griffin Soccer Club in Calgary and came in second in most goals scored this past season. Along with a knack for scoring goals, Umeh is also known for his dribbling and passing vision. Off the pitch Umeh enjoys volunteering at his local church and plans on studying in the Buller School of Business here at Providence.
Umeh commented on signing his letter of intent to play for the Pilots by saying, “I see Providence as motivation to succeed as a student and as an athlete. I am excited to join the Pilot program this upcoming fall.”
Welcome to the Pilot family Joel!
