This year, the Providence Invitational saw teams from outside the province join and make it a full weekend of high quality volleyball. Our team had the opportunity to challenge a U Sport team in Lakehead on Friday night. It was unfortunate we didn’t have our best against them as they made pretty quick work of us that night. Against Mayville, we were again up against a team in a higher league than us. We gave them a really good match and ended up having one of best performances of the season so far. On the final day, we played our best and most complete match of the season against Lake Region. It was a thrilling 5 setter that went back and forth with us winning some of the bigger points of the match. I am very happy with the steps we took this weekend. It was great to see our team play together so well as that has been a component we have been missing so far this season. We will look to build off this weekends play as we head into the tail end of our U.S. season.

Danella Alvaro (Captain/senior): Although we didn’t get the outcomes we had hoped, we were able to play some of our best volleyball yet. Through some long 5 set matches, our team unity was really evident and we got to those close games against great opponents by staying as a team. Our team is very young, yet we saw so much growth in just one weekend alone which we can now use to motivate ourselves to keep pushing through the rest of our season. We got the opportunity to play some great teams this weekend which only made us better.
