Pilots Flight Report: Women's Volleyball - February 1

This past week saw Maddie Fehr from the Pilots women's volleyball team awarded with MCAC Athlete of the week as she has put together great performances as of late. However the Pilots dropped a hard fought match to the #1 seeded University of Saint Boniface three sets to one.

Game #1
GAME: Providence Pilots (5-8) vs. St. Boniface University (12-2)
SCORE: USB def. PUC 3-1 (25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15)
DATE: Saturday, February 1, 2020
LOCATION: Otterburne, MB

Maddie Fehr: 17 kills, 14 digs
Ally Grafe: 25 digs

"Saturdays match was a good test for us to go up against a very good St. Boniface team. They rarely make mistakes and constantly put pressure on their opponents. That was no different this weekend as they were very hard to put a ball away against and gave us tough looks all match. We were up to the challenge in the first 2 sets as we had our chances to pull away in the first and won the second. We struggled to keep our energy and intensity up for the second half of the match which led to St. Boniface pulling away with it. We are still looking to find consistency for complete matches which has been our downfall since the MCAC season started. Looking ahead, we have 3 matches this week which will give us a lot of chances to work that consistent play." - Kyle Guenther

“We are experiencing a tough stretch right now but I feel that we are too focused on the wins and losses. We need to be striving to reach our potential every time we step on the floor, in practice or a match. If we can all commit to that goal and keep each other accountable, we will be a tough team to beat on any given night. The opportunities will be there with so many matches this week and I am hopeful we can rise the challenge” – Carsyn Peters
