Pilots Flight Report: Women's Futsal - February 8

Pilots Women's Futsal was in Winnipeg, to face the CMU Blazers this weekend. The Pilots came out flying scoing 3 unanswered goal in the first half but then the intensity wore off and the blazers climed back into the game earning a tie.
The Pilots have two games this week, both vs the USB Les Rouges Thursday and Saturday nights.

Game #1
GAME: Providence Pilots vs CMU Blazers
SCORE: T 3-3
DATE: Saturday, February 8th 2020
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB

Lindsey Dueck - 1 Goal
Kathryn Tierney - 1 Goal
Claire Yager - 1 Goal

FROM THE COACH: "I won't say that I am disappointed in our team, the team fought hard and showed moments of great futsal. The only issue this game was our focus, we turned off mentally in key moments and gave CMU some easy cheap goals which cost us the win. We will need to get better at being focused and committed to being a better team if we want to improve moving forward. I believe this group will take this tie and learn from it, the character on this team is great which makes me encouraged to know, we will bounce back." - Tory Walker

PLAYER’S VIEW: “This weekend we went into the CMU game knowing we needed to win if we wanted to secure our spot in the top four. Going into the first half I think offensively we were a little shy, but we managed to work hard and score 3 goals, making some really great passing combinations. Starting the second half up 3-0, CMU came out strong and with more intensity, and unfortunately we didn’t do the same. It was a disappointing tie in the last 20 seconds, but I know we’re a better team than we showed, and we will be ready to learn from this and come out strong in both games against USB this week.” - Julia Herperger
