Pilots Flight Report: Women’s Basketball

Friday’s game marked our only game against an NCAA DIII school, this season. Northland travelled up from Ashland Wisconsin to play Providence on Friday and St Cloud State on Saturday. This marked the first meeting between the two teams.

Game #1
GAME: Providence Pilots (4-8) vs. Northland College Lumberjills (2-0)
SCORE: Loss 69-47
DATE: November 23, 2018
LOCATION: Otterburne, MB

Katelin Thiessen 18 Pts, 6 Reb
Alison Zajac 9 Reb, 4 Stl
Megan Wiebe 8 Pts, 4 Reb, 2 Stl

“Our game on Friday was the tale to two halves. It felt like I was coaching two completely different teams from the first half to the second. I believe that we have the potential to play a close game with Northland, if we are able to compete for a full 40 minutes. Right now, our greatest challenge is to put together a complete game. We enter a bye week which will allow us to address a few things as we prepare to close out the semester strong with a pair of games against AFLBS at home and a pair of games with Turtle Mountain on the road.”

“We played a good game defensively, but we just couldn’t get our offence going early in the game and Northland was able to take advantage of that. We will be working hard in the gym this week to reach our goal of game intensity.” (Alison Zajac 4th year forward)

NEXT UP: Providence Pilots (4-9) vs. Association Free Lutheran Bible School Conquerors (4-2)
DATE: December 8-9, 2018
LOCATION: Otterburne, MB
