After splitting the results against AFLBS at home last week, we travelled for our last games of 2018.

Unfortunately, we entered in the first game with a very weak first half. Our defence, never really stopped the guards of TMCC to score 3 pts after 3 pts on us. We tried to stay in the game offensively, but this side of the court was not strong enough to balance our bad defensive play.

We started the second half down by 18 pts. Cash Blanca and Chris Dick, only returning players from last year playing this game, tried to give a new hope to the team, leading on both sides of the court with a strong offence and defence. They stepped up the level that all the team need to reach, making TMCC pay every single mistake or bad rotation in defence. But the advantage that TMCC took in the first half was too strong to allow us to win and we had to watch TMCC taking the first game.

Going into the second game, we knew that nothing will be easy and that we will need to play stronger basketball on both sides of the court if we wanted to have a chance to win the game. Again, Cash Blanca and Chris Dick showed everyone the level that they can reach when they play at their max. Unstoppable in his drives, Dick scored again and again on the fast break situations. Blanca, true Point Guard of the team, showed great playmaking in driving the ball to find the open man.

But 2 players playing at this level is not enough to stop 5 players. Our mistakes in defence after our moments of greatness in offence were too many to stay in the game. Again we came back from the half down by 16 pts. We had a great run to come back in the game but it was not enough, and again we had to watch our opponent celebrate a win.

We have a lot of changes to make after the Christmas break to come back in this long season race. Improving our mindset, our combativity and focus in defence and our offensive options is going to be crucial for us.
