FROM THE COACH: The Men’s basketball was on the road this weekend to face our first challenge of the season at Mayville State University. Both games were really tough, and the Comets showed us great competition by playing strong fundamental basketball. We have struggled in finding offensive solutions as the defending pressure was high.
On the opposite side of the court, the Pilots worked hard to contain the tall players of Mayville. The team showed great solidarity in this battle and stayed in the game even if the score was already established.
As a coach, I see here a great opportunity to learn. Playing against this kind of team is always a good way to question ourselves and to point out the weakness that we need to improve on. It’s still early in the season; we are going to get back to work to be ready for our next game on Sunday at Valley City.

PLAYER’S VIEW: Tyler Klassen: This weekend was good, we had great competition, and it was a really good learning experience for us. We, as a team, all feel that there are many things we can take away from this weekend, and we know we will use it to improve ourselves as individuals, but also as a team.

NEXT UP: Providence Pilots (2-2) vs. Valley City Vikings (0-0)
DATE: October 21, 2018
LOCATION: Valley City, ND
