Both Pilots basketball teams earned split results from last weekend’s trip to Bottineau, North Dakota.
First facing hosts Dakota College, the Providence women’s and men’s teams came up short—the women losing 72-48 and the men falling 136-84. But a day later both sides beat Montana’s Stone Child College. The men triumphed 112-107 and the women, led by Taylor Goodbrandson’s game-high 23 points, prevailed 77-69.
Women’s head coach Joel Coursey is pleased with how his team is coming together ahead of the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference regular season.
“My team has battled day in and day out,” he said. “I feel that we are more ready for the start of the regular season than we have been in the past.
The two pilots teams will face the Red River College Rebels on November 8 before welcome Oak Hills Christian College to Otterburne for a series of weekend games.
