Men’s soccer adds a touch of grit to a growing roster of character players. After a season away from the lush grasses of the Providence fields, the Pilots are looking to return to their championship form. In the 2019 season, the boys in blue captured the NCCAA regional banner and landed in the National Championship game, only to have their hearts broken once again.

Johannes Barnes lands on a team poised to raise banners and challenge on the biggest of stage. “Joining Providence is an absolute blessing. I’m excited to build with this group of men and grow my education and faith.” Johannes, “can’t wait to fly with the Pilots!”

Coach Joey Passi has continued to add depth and sees his latest recruit as “a great character player who brings an incredible grit and grind to the field. He wins tackles, plays fast, and helps control the middle of the field. He’s a hard worker who will excel in our program.” He shares in the excitement of his latest recruit, and “can’t wait to have him join the Pilot family.”

With September right around the corner, coach Passi along with Johannes and the rest of the Pilots roster, will shift their focus to training camps as they begin their campaign for an MCAC title and a trip to the CCAA national tournament.
