The Providence Pilots women’s soccer team has solidified its back end by recruiting goalkeeper Morgan Andries for the 2018-19 soccer season.
Andries brings an impressive soccer resume to Providence. She currently represents her high school side at Glenlawn Collegiate and has also played for Winnipeg club teams Southend United and FC Northwest. She has considerable technical skill for a ‘keeper and has the ability to lead and distribute the ball from the back.
“This is a huge signing for us,” says Pilots head coach Tory Walker. “Our team is really starting to come together for next season. Morgan is a top goalie in the province and will bring us a lot of stability in net. We are extremely excited to build off the great season we just had and I believe we will only get better.”
An honour roll student at Glenlawn, Andries volunteered with the Live Your Goals youth program in Winnipeg during the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. She is interested in studying social sciences at Providence.
“I am excited to start this new chapter in my life,” she says. “I am looking forward to joining such a successful team and hope to help build and contribute to its future success. I’m excited to be a Pilot!”
