Anna Cushon Commits to PUC Pilots Women's Basketball

Anna Cushon, a forward from Oxbow, Saskatchewan, has committed to the Providence University Collge women's basketball team.
Cushon announced her commitment to the Pilots yesterday. She now joins a strong freshmen class and what is sure to be another strong year for the Pilot's basketball program.

Cushon is a 5' 10" forward who in 2018 played for the Saskatchewan Basketball Provincial Team. In 2020, she was named to the Saskatchewan Senior All-Star Team and has also been a captain of her high school team, Oxbow Prairie Horizons School. She is a strong rebounder, mid-range jumper, shot blocker and team motivator.

Head coach Joel Coursey expressed his excitement when talking about his newest recruit by saying, "We are thrilled to welcome Anna to the program. I believe that Anna is a tough player with a strong interior presence. I think she will adapt quickly to the college game and find ways to contribute early on. She has the attitude that we are looking for and we are excited for the passion and enthusiasm that she will bring to our first-year class!"

Cushon comes to Providence to study social sciences as well as play baskeball for the Pilots.

Cushon said, "I’m super excited to be joining the Pilots!" She continued, "It seems like such a welcoming community that I’m looking forward to becoming a part of. I can’t wait to further my education on and off the court and play the sport I love."

Welcome to the Pilot family Anna!
