Dr. Luann Hiebert is Assistant Professor of English Literature at Providence University College. Dr. Hiebert may not be a great gardener, but she cultivates a love for poetry both inside and outside of the classroom. Her research interests revolve around Canadian literature, especially prairie poetry written by women, and the reclamation of maternal voices in literature. Her debut poetry collection What Lies Behind (Turnstone Press, 2014) was shortlisted for two Manitoba book awards: the Eileen McTavish Sykes Award for Best First Book (2015), and the Lansdowne Prize for Poetry (2015). Her life is enriched through writing, singing, painting, coffeeing with friends, and traveling with family.
