Val Hiebert, Ph.D. (Cand.)

Assistant Professor of Sociology

Val lives in Mitchell and is an active member of her church (village). Val also invests energy into community advocacy and education. Her academic specialties are gender, children & cultural violence, language & culture and marriage & family. She is an avid gardener with a pantry annually full of organic plenty, a life-long runner and thoroughly enjoys their hobby farm animals. Whether in the garden, the classroom or the public commons, Val feels awed by the privilege and wonder of planting and watching things grow.
