Improve Your Care-Giving Skills as a Christian Counsellor

The Providence Applied Counselling Certificate is intended for those who want to improve their understanding of Christian counselling and care-giving skills for helping ministries or counselling services. The program involves taking courses from qualified and experienced practitioners, enjoying the benefits of a group of students and learning in a Christian environment.

For Entrance into the Applied Counselling program

Core course requirements for entrance into the applied counselling program are listed in the Academic Calendar. Acceptance into the Graduate Certificate in Applied Counselling program will be evaluated on case-by-case basis. Although a recognized undergraduate degree is preferred, admission as a mature student without an undergraduate degree will be considered. In such instances, previous post-secondary education, employment and/or ministry experience may be taken into account.

Graduates build careers in counselling therapy, crisis intervention, community mental health, para-church counselling, and church ministries. Many choose to plug their Certificate into a Master of Arts program, and continue in the Counselling Program.
