Mile Two Ministry

“Whatever you do to the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you do to me.” - Matthew 25:40

We want to help every Mile Two student answer Jesus’ call to serve. Students will minister in urban placements, such as soup kitchens and drop-ins, as well as local locations, such as youth groups and seniors’ homes. Students will also be encouraged to actively participate in a nearby church where they can put their gifts to use.

Service Placements

We take seriously our call to be a light in this world.  Whether it’s serving a bowl of soup to a person experiencing homelessness or investing in the life of a teenager at a drop-in center, opportunities to serve are all around us.

Our students participate in two weekly service placements (one in inner city Winnipeg and one in the local community) which are typically 2-4 hours each. Some of the current and past service placements have included Lighthouse Mission, Siloam Mission, Inner City Youth Alive, Youth for Christ and Niverville Heritage Care Home. Students have also served by helping international students learn English, serving at a youth group and helping out in their home church.  We help each student find the placements that are best for them.

Every Mile Two student is placed in two ministry service placements: one urban and one local. Past students have worked in soup kitchens, senior's homes or youth drop-in centers.

Whatever your church experience, we want you to use your gifts and have the opportunity to be a contributing member of a healthy, local church.

Gain new experiences and serve others as a group here and abroad. God provides us with opportunities to show His love in a variety of settings and with a diverse group of people.
