The British Columbia contingent on the Providence Pilots women’s soccer team increased to four ahead of next season with the recent recruitment of Langley’s Makayla Myer.
A pacey attacker who likes to take defenders on one-on-one, Myer, will bring exceptional ball control to the Pilots as well as experience playing for her Clayton Heights High School team as well as club teams Langley United (U18) and Surrey Gilford United Metro.
In both 2016 and 2017 Myer as named a Top-12 Female Player for Langley United and in 2017 she was the top goal-scorer at the provincial club championship. She is an honour roll student and will study Social Sciences at Providence.
“I look forward to be playing as a Pilot in the fall and making new memories with the team,” she says.
“Makayla is a very gifted and talented striker who will really help us offensively next year,” comments Pilots head coach Tory Walker. “This is another huge piece to building a strong team. Makayla will give us quickness and character and the ability to take on players one-on-one.”
