FROM THE COACH:
It was a tough weekend in Brandon for our team. On Friday night, we started off with a competitive first set. Once we lost the first set, we lost all confidence and couldn’t find it again. Between missed serves, hitting errors, and communication errors, we made it very tough on ourselves to get any sort of momentum at all in the match. The second match of the weekend was quite a bit different as far as being competitive in the match. We played a really great first set but couldn’t close it out when we had the chance. Once we lost the first set, once again all confidence seemed to drain out of us. The second set was over quickly as we couldn’t gain any sort of traction. The team rallied and found the same fight they had in the first set. It was close from start to finish but once again couldn’t play the big points at the end of the set the way we needed to. The theme of our results this season are all quite similar as we just can’t close out teams at the end of sets. We have 4 matches in the next 6 days which will give us many opportunities to improve on our finishing abilities against great competition.
