FROM THE COACH:
"From start to finish, this was a special night for our team. Before the match, we had the chance to honour our senior player and captain, Ally Grafe. She has had an amazing career as a Pilot and I was very excited to put the spotlight on her for the first few minutes of the night. After that, it was a really incredible night on the court. We were fighting for positioning heading into playoffs against the first place team who has given us problems all season. It was obvious that our team was motivated at the start of the match as we were playing at the highest level we have seen in months. We blocked better than I have seen this team block all season which didn’t allow St. Boniface any easy points throughout the match. We could set up our defence around the block which gave us a lot of transition opportunities as well. We executed our game plan really well all night and controlled the play pretty much the whole match. This was the confidence we needed heading into playoffs and I feel our team is in a good place to make a run against the top teams next weekend." - Kyle Guenther

PLAYER’S VIEW:
“What a way to finish our regular season schedule. Leading up to Friday nights game, I feel as though our team was making the right steps forward to being successful. However, we seemed to always have one piece of our game missing. I think because of this, our team was ready to give all we had and came out with a complete team effort. We showed the rest of the league who we have been becoming over these last few weeks. Our team came out ready and I couldn’t be more proud of them. Beating the number one seeded team in 3 straight sets is exactly what our team needed heading into playoffs. I’m looking forward to the semi-final match against CMU on Saturday. I think our team is ready to continue to strive for success and give it our all.” –Ally Grafe
