Pilots Flight Report: Women's Futsal - February 1

Pilots Futsal was in Winnipeg this past Saturday to face the Red River College Rebels. Saturday the Rebels sat in first place, and the Pilots came out of the gate eager to get a result.

Game #1
GAME: Providence Pilots vs Red River Rebels
SCORE: Tie 3-3
DATE: Saturday, February 1st
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB

PILOTS KEY CONTRIBUTORS:
Claire Yager - 2 goals
Makayla Myer - 1 goal

FROM THE COACH: "It always seems to be a challenge for our team to go and play at Red River. Simply because the size of their futsal court is huge compared to the rest of the league. On Saturday it took our team at least 10 - 15 minutes to get used to the size and to start playing out game. I thought our game wasn't that great this Saturday, we showed moments of who we can be, but also a lot of moments where the team just turned off. I am happy the team found a way to dig deep late in the game to get a tie. Hats off to Makayla on getting the game tying goal with seven seconds left in the game." - Tory Walker

PLAYER’S VIEW: "During practice this week our team worked on urgency, and I'm very proud that our team was able to apply it to our game this weekend against Red River. Going into the game I think our team was a bit hesitant missing a few players and Red River sitting in first place. We showed a lot of urgency throughout the entire game including the last minutes of the game being able to tie with 7 seconds left. We hope to use what we have learned this weekend and come out stronger than ever this Saturday against CMU." - Makayla Myer
