Pilots Flight Report: Women's Basketball

The Pilots drove 5 hours south of the border to Valley City, North Dakota this past sunday to play a stong NAIA opponent Valley City State University Vikings.

Game #1
GAME: Providence Pilots (0-2) vs. Valley City State University Vikings (0-0)
SCORE: Loss 81-21
DATE: October 21, 2018
LOCATION: Valley City, ND

PILOTS KEY CONTRIBUTORS:
Katelin Thiessen played 36 minutes, 2 steals, 2 assists

FROM THE COACH:
We entered our game on Sunday afternoon understanding that Valley City would be a very strong team, who would challenge us in much the same way as Mayville State, one week earlier. Unlike Mayville, Valley City was a physically large team and attacked us on the interior instead of the 3 point arsenal which Mayville unleashed. I am happy with the intensity and physicality my team has offered up this far and I only expect that we will continue to grow through these tough challenges. Each new test has shown us the areas that we need to focus on next. This week will be spent developing on those illuminated weaknesses as we prepare for another NAIA opponent in Presentation College.

PLAYER’S VIEW:
“Playing tough teams, like Valley City, is a great opportunity for us to work hard and push through challenges. Sunday’s game showed us that practicing with game speed and intensity is always important. We are improving as a team after every game and I can’t wait to see what next weekend brings.” (Natalya Reimer, 1st year guard)

NEXT UP: Providence Pilots (0-3) vs. Presentation College Saints (3-2-3)
DATE: October 26-27, 2018
