Pilots Flight Report: Women’s Basketball - November 15

Providence entered the weekends only contest after an injury riddled week leaving them with only 6 available for Friday night. The two teams met twice last season, splitting the matchups with Calvary winning at home during the regular season and the Pilots taking their playoff match, landing them in the regional final.

Game #1
GAME: Providence University College Pilots vs Calvary University Warriors
SCORE: W 64-61
DATE: 11/15/2019
LOCATION: Otterburne, MB

PILOTS KEY CONTRIBUTORS:
Hannah Van Schie: 15 Points, 11 Rebounds, 2 Assists, 3 Steals
Alena Collier: 14 Points, 9 Rebounds, 4 Assists, 1 Block, 3 Steals

PLAYER’S VIEW:
“I think we played a great game, especially since we were able to hold the lead in the final minutes. We were able to execute our game plan, even though we only played with 6 players due to injuries. Calvary was an aggressive team with good shooters who were tough to stop. We were able to limit them late in the game when it mattered, and overall came out with a win. While we are happy with the win, we aren’t satisfied and are going to continue to work even harder in our upcoming games.” Alex Grislis

PLAYER’S VIEW:
“Calvary came out strong and energized but we were right there with them throughout the first quarter. In the second we gained a lead and managed to hold it the entire game which was huge for us. They cut it close with seconds left but we executed just well enough to win the game. It was nice to come out on top against one of our great regional opponents, but we are not satisfied with our game and will use this as a stepping stone to learn and get better.” Hannah Van Schie
