FROM THE COACH: The team responded very well to the disappointment of losing several players at Christmas and have really come together in a unified way. Although we struggled with the quality of volleyball on Friday against St. Boniface, the guys hung in there and made some key adjustments to find a way to come back from being down 2 sets to 1 to win in five. Saturday’s match against CMU was a great step up in quality of play, although I’m sure both teams would say that we can play better. Being able to beat CMU, in their gym, this early in the 2nd semester is a huge confidence boost for the guys and will hopefully give us motivation to keep working hard for the next month and a half. - Scott Masterson

PLAYERS VIEW: We went into the weekend knowing we were facing a big challenge in our opposition but also a lot of adversity because of our smaller team. We all got mentally prepared and ready for what very well could have been a weekend with two losses had we not worked together so well. The entire team banded together and supported the guys playing new positions and there was not a moment that we were isolated on the court. Everyone dug deep and found the strength for nine hard sets and we came out with two big wins that will help a lot come playoffs. - Jonas Friesen
