Game #2
GAME: Providence Pilots vs Brandon
SCORE: 5-2 loss
DATE: Jan 26th
LOCATION: Providence

PILOTS KEY CONTRIBUTORS:
Zach Friesen: Had to jump in and play goalie. Only got scored on once and played great in net
Johnny Fulford, set up a goal, defended well, and created great counter attacks.

FROM THE COACH:
Overall it was a positive weekend for us. We got the most important win which was beating ACC who were tied with us in the standings. We played a great defensive game, taking away most dangerous opportunities which gave Jay an opportunity to make the saves, which he did. Offensively it took us a little bit to get going, but once we did we were able to connect some good plays from counter attacks and capitalize with goals.
For the second game we had a pretty good first half, and then unfortunately our goalie Jay got hurt and we had to shuffle through a couple guys while trying to figure it out. Taking Jay out of the game (due to injury) took away part of our offense due to no longer having anyone to carry the ball up like he often does. We also did not react well as a team to him getting hurt and as a consequence Brandon scored 2 quick goals to put the game away. I though in the second half we struggled in our build up and that hurt us. Overall for the weekend, our defense was solid, and I saw some good individual improvement from some of our guys including Bret and Kaine.
